Why I'm Running

I’m running for County Commissioner to build a County government that works for all of us. This means working to protect our public institutions, preserve open spaces, ensure secure jobs with family sustaining wages, and making sure our county government is providing the highest possible quality of life for as many Berks County residents as possible. I look at public service as a privilege, and I feel I have a unique background and perspective that has prepared me to serve the county effectively. As an elected Supervisor in Spring Township, department supervisor at Reading Public Library, and executive board member of AFSCME 2763, I'm honored to have the trust of my neighbors, coworkers, and union brethren. I am also very committed to civic and community participation outside of government and work, including coaching soccer, volunteering at my children’s school, and serving on various organizational boards.

Thank you,

Jess Royer
